is it normal for SSD to go to 87 and 89 degrees while gaming?
It always happens while playing Call of Duty modern warfare, also I have the battle net and game installed on D drive (HARD DISK).

Nope, after 70C the ssd starts to behave weird.

This is super weird. When you're playing games, all the data will be cached into memory, otherwise it'd be sluggish no matter how fast your SSD is. The only moments your SSD is stressed out is during loading the data. I never actually know how can an SSD becomes that hot. I remember I watched someone's video on YouTube. His SSD has this RGB lighting. Him turning it off actually reduces the temp dramatically. If this is the case with your SSD, try doing that as well.

Do you have a heatsink on the top of the ssd?

My advise is to get one and put it on together with thermal pads on the ssd you will notice the difference immediatelly

SSD won't heat up generally. But, there are some things that might cause this issue. What I have found most of the time is either the viruses or overusing your SSD. If you have consumed the overall SSD capacity, its components may start to decompose and heat could be the resulting factor.
