Hi guys, I cant seem to find this anywhere on google or here. But is it possible to upgrade the specs of Acer Aspire XC-886 myself?
Im thinking of upgrading the
- GPU to GTX 1660S
- Power Supply to somewhere around 500W.
Will everything be okay?

Can someone here enlighten me?

Side note*
As for the ram and SSD, ill run thru Crucial and order better ones that are compatible.

The XC-886 unfortunately has a tough to replace power supply. The stock one is 220W and a special form factor (DTX IIRC) and finding a higher wattage takes some sleuthing. I believe people have successfully found 300W units and perhaps larger, but all the easy searches return the 200W replacement supplies. Once you have a larger supply sourced, measure the area you have for the GPU. I think you'll need a shorty card because the case is slim. That will be much easier than finding the PSU... Ram and SSD are easy and Crucial should give you good suggestions on both. Since the M.2 slot allows Optane memory, an NVMe drive will work as as well.

I'm in the same boat, I may resort to getting an easily available Flex ATX power supply, which is physically smaller than the OEM unit, however I would probably need to do some mild modification to the XC886 chassis to have it bolt in securely.

    Did you have any luck?
