Someone help me please. I need to upgrade my laptop. It is really slow. I cant do my work at home properly because of this. We are in community lockdown because of the virus and I cant go to the technician. I want to buy SSD and RAM but not sure if this will work with my laptop. Im thinking of buying KINGSTON 8GB DDR4 PC2666MHZ NON-ECC (KVR26S19S8/8) SODIMM MEMORY and ADATA XPG 128GB m.2 NVMe SSD. Is this okay? Need your recommendations please.

First, you can significantly speed up your system by uninstalling, not just disabling, any non-Microsoft antivirus software like McAfee, Norton, AVG, Malwarebytes, etc. Most folks only need Windows defender and malicious software removal tool which are regularly updated.

The Adata m.2 NVME should work in your machine but at only half its advertised speed due to your 2-linkwidth bus. However, you must check your m.2 socket to make sure it has only one single key or the single XPG keyslot won't fit. You're much safer with an m.2 Adata SATA3 with 2 keyslots which will fit both single and double key sockets.

Since your machine's DDR4 RAM is dual channel capable, it is best to buy two 8GB RAM modules as a matched set or kit. Thus mixing a 4GB RAM with an 8GB RAM in a DDR4 dual channel machine is not advisable since may cause issues BSOD issues.
