Front Camera Issues

I had an acer switch 3 laptop that I started using more recently, and the front camera seems to be broken. The main camera works fine and can take pictures fine, but the front-facing camera does not work at all and just shows a blank white screen. When trying to take a picture, the error code 0xA00F4292 appears. I have restarted the laptop multiple times and even done a factory reset, I have tried multiple options online but absolutely nothing works. I would really like to find some solution other than trashing it and buying a new laptop as I cannot afford it, any help is appreciated.

Which specific Switch 3 do you have? Have you tried yet to delete the drivers and let Windows reinstall them after a reboot? If it turns out there is a hardware issues with the camera and you are out of warranty a work around is to pick up a cheap USB webcam and use that for Zooming.

I did that for a friend recently who had an old laptop with a bad camera. It was way cheaper than a replacement laptop!

I've taken a look at an identical post https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/564633/asap-i-cannot-get-my-front-facing-camera-to-work-switch-sw312-31 and it appears as though there's nothing I can do. I imagine it's too late for a refund or any other options like that, so it seems as though I've just lost a lot of money. It honestly hurts a lot to be screwed over like this, and my heart goes out to anyone experiencing a similar problem...

@Leilani is yours a SW312-31 model as well? Do you have the same symptoms where bringing up the camera gives a white screen? The error code 0xA00F4292 seems to be a timeout when requesting something from the camera, which would point to an issue with either the camera board or the cable. Are you still in warranty?
