Drivers have been updated from both the Microsoft site and the Acer site and nothing works.  Please let me know how I can get this to work, as I need to have it for video conferencing.  ASAP

There are few devices which does not come with front camera, To check and confirm please share the exact model number. If you think your device has front camera then try the below steps.

go to device manager and check for imaging devices, Double tap on it to see the drivers and uninstall it ( Make sure NOT to check the box that says delete this driver software )

Once its done, then restart the device. Post this open the camera app and click on option to switch the camera from rear to front side.

Yes this device has the front facing camera. Have you tried the troubleshooting steps suggested by me. If not please try them and share the result.

    No it has never worked.
Microsoft support tried to get it to work.

If you tried both cam drivers without success from this link https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/7246?b=1
then the best way to rule in or rule out a hardware failure is a factory reset by the ALT+F10 cold boot recovery method as shown below. If it still fails, then it's most likely a hardware failure. Jack E/NJ

Does it not work as in it's either not shown in Device Manager or shown with an error, or does it not work as in when you select the camera you only get a blank, black image?

When I select the camera it shows a white blank picture.

Unless billsey recommends something less troublesome to try first, I  suggest the ALT+F10 reset to rule in/out a cam hardware issue. Jack E/NJ

I already did a reset. This is what Acer initially suggested. This did not fix the problem.

If you only tried it once, try it again. If still no joy, it's likely a cam or cable connection hardware failure. I suggest that you return it to the vendor as defective for a refund or exchange ASAP. Jack E/NJ

Did you test it with the pre-loaded camera app or have you also tested with any other camera apps. If you have not then test it with some other camera apps. Also, you can test it online aswell. this is make sure you have tried all possibilities.

If none of these steps work then i would suggest you to follow as colleague @JackE mentioned.

Nothing has been resolved. I will have to take it back and deal with the retailer. None of the other options worked.

Yeah, I was kind of hoping the camera was just misaligned behind the lens, but that would normally give you a black screen, not white. I'm afraid the camera itself is likely bad. Best is to swap it out if the purchase is recent enough or go the warranty route with Acer support if not.
