Hi.
I have a 2012 Acer Aspire V5 Laptop. I haven't used the computer in over a year. I pulled it out a couple days ago and I got a message to update to Windows 10. So I did... Then after it updated I noticed that the sound wasn't working. After HOURS of trying this that and the other, I still don't have any sound. When I troubleshoot it tells me "Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem". When I look in Sound Settings, there is no output device found or no input device found. When I go to Device Manager, "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" is not listed at all. What the bleep is going on?? Can anyone help? I also contacted Windows help desk and they were no help at all. I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Open ControlPanel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point' in left pane. In the box that pops up is 'system protection' turned on? If yes, click 'system restore' button. Click 'next'. Select restore point with a date stamp of a couple days ago. Jack E/NJ

Hello JackE. Unfortunately, my computer doesn't have a restore point. The computer hasn't been used in over a year and it was dead at some point in time...I just checked again and there is no backup to restore files to. No dates listed at all. Very frustrating. Thank you for your help!
