Hello there, I just bought a brand new Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-54-51M5) laptop from Best Buy. After  in a new RAM card/chip (8GB DDR4), and swapping out the 1TB HDD with a 2TB HDD, the laptop won't power on at all. I've tried checking the main battery and even the CMOS battery but everything looks to be in place and looking fine. I've even tried holding the power button for 30 seconds like some have suggested

Another post (https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/553998/acer-nitro-5-no-power) suggested something about the interlock button, but I find no such button anywhere on the boars or near the battery. Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you checked your power/charger supply? If its plugged in properly and/or its not faulty? This is very unusual, especially for a new laptop! Also, have you plugged in the new HDD and RAM properly? As opening and changing components could disturbed components related to power supply and connections, as not plugging in RAM properly and disturbing power components would contribute to your laptop not turning on! Check all that and make sure everything is plugged in properly and you haven't missed any connections.

To think it was something as simple as putting the screws back in after putting the back panel back on. As it turns out, the back panel that I took off in order to put in the new HDD and RAM also served as a way of distributing power throughout the motherboard via copper contact points. Pretty clever if you ask me.
