How can I know the limits of the RAM memory (and the Mhz speed) of my laptop? And how much storage?

Hello

I have a acer brand laptop, with this specifications.

Acer Aspire 5

A515-51-563W

Intel Core i5-7200U 2.5GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz.

I was planning to upgrade my RAM and storage, but i don't know how much I can put on the laptop.

Some post and forums say that I can introduce a RAM with a speed of 2400 Mhz, others that support RAM with a speed of 2666 Mhz.

I looked at the crucial official page, and looking at the model of my laptop, it shows me that it can support RAM with speed ...

either 2400 or 2666Mhz speed.

I am not a professional laptop hardware expert, but as far as I know, when upgrading a memory RAM, you should enter or update your memory ram and put another one that runs at the proper speed which the microprocessor runs.

When I check at the command prompt and introduce:

wmic memorychip get speed

It shows me that the system works at 2133 Mhz.

I would like to know if ... by inserting a RAM memory with a higher frequency rate (either 2400Mhz or 2666Mhz) ... it would damage my laptop or the RAM memory I put in it.

And I would like to know if the laptop could recognize a hard drive with more capacity than 1 terabyte (Like 2 terabyte)

I hope you can help resolve my question.

Best regards, and have a nice day. :)

Your machine will accept a maximum of 16GB DDR4 laptop 1866MHz or higher frequency RAM module for a total of 20GB DDR4 RAM. Jack E/NJ

Crucial is usually pretty good and has a good return policy if you're not satisfied. If the Adata brand has similar specs, it should be OK too. Good luck on whatever you decide. Jack E/NJ
