Can you give me a link to a wifi card I can buy today that will for sure work with my laptop config?
I have  Acer Aspire V17 Black Ed.  VN7-791G-74SH  Part Number: NX.MTHAA.002

I would like 5ghz speed if possible, please tell me which cards are compatible.

Executive summary:
My WIFI card has slowly over the years dropped wifi signal more and more often. Now it will only work for a few minutes and then quit.
I want to buy a new WIFI card and install it for myself. But I am confused which card to buy.
According to ACER website my laptop has:

Wireless LAN Manufacturer

Qualcomm Atheros

Wireless LAN Model

NFA344

Wireless LAN Standard

IEEE 802.11ac

However, I was under the impression from several videos I've seen that it contained an Intel Model 7265NGW and nearly purchased one today.
So what do I get?

When I look up "Qualcomm Atheros NFA344" that is a DESKTOP card - not for a laptop - so I'm thinking that it is not the correct info on the ACER website about my laptop.

I just downloaded the updated drivers to try first before I buy a new WIFI card - hope they will help - I'll keep you posted.

The NFA344 comes in large desktop card format and a smaller laptop card format. They're physical form factors are different but otherwise have similar functions. The laptop card you have is probably just fine but likely needs to be re-seated in its mainboard slot to clean its contacts and also have its antenna wire screws loosened and then tightened up. Thanks JackE, I may try this. So far after the updated driver installation the wifi worked for 3 hours without dropping signal. That's an improvement. I did find the laptop version of the qualcomm wifi module for this laptop - at least I think it will work with this laptop. So I may buy that if this new driver fails me.

You've got to open the laptop anyway to remove and install a new module. So you might as well re-seat the one that's already in there to see if that's all it needs. Jack E/NJ
