Hi, I would like to add more RAM to my Acer (currently with 4GB). I found the following RAM on Amazon, and I am pretty confident in my research but would like to get a confirmation from someone with more tech experience than me. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LW6HBSM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

I was able to gather the following specs related to the RAM from the Task Manager on my laptop:
speed 2400 MHz
slots used 1 of 2
form factor sodimm
4 gb
LPDDR4

Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
Could you please confirm that you have a LPDDR4 in your laptop, according to manual your model has two slots for upgrade, you can upgrade with the module you intend to buy but it's better to install same size module as your current module to utilize the dual-channel feature.
LPDDR4 modules are normally soldered to the motherboard, so if you add the 8GB module to the second slot, you will have 12GB total memory.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, according to the original listing for the laptop on Amazon (where I purchased it) the memory is LPDDR4. Not sure how else I can verify that on the actual laptop. When you say it is better to install the same size module, do you mean I should only upgrade with another 4 GB stick? I was really wanting to go to 12 GB total if possible.

    Hi,
Could you please download and install CPU-z, run it and post the snip of the Memory tab and SPD tab, like my snips.

I have the same question as SUPERDUCKY420 above. I'm a tad bit confused on which version of CPU-z to download and install so I can see this information. I have previously purchased an additional stick of 4GB DDR4 2666 Mhz PC4-21300 260PIN SODIMM 1.2V CL=19 Unbuffered NON-ECC, Samsung.
I have yet to install it. I was actually holding out to purchase 2 sticks of 8 GB but the price continues to rise.

Maybe I'm confused but it was always my understanding that both sticks should be of equal value, or you're not going to get the full potential of RAM that you think you're going to get when you have different values such as a 4GB plus an 8GB value put together. They may work, but not exactly to your advantage. Like I said, maybe I'm confused but I don't think you're getting your full moneys worth this way. I would like to understand more. Thank you.
