Okay so mainboard/PSU fried in a year on me Acer Predator laptop (PH317-51). Got the battery and mainboard fixed under warranty. Got a new cord as well.

They didn't plug the fans in.

I use an under computer fan which probably kept it going as long as it did. However the heat got out of control by the time I noticed and it fried the hard drive, battery and a few other parts. All under warranty thank god.

Sent it in AGAIN last week due to the gpu artifacting most likely from the prior heat damage as it wasn't replaced.

Got it back and it wasn't not fixed at all and they said they reinstalled windows and it fixed the problem. It didn't.

They said they were going to look at it again. Never got an email on it being received. The status says they're sending it back now since Friday. Haven't got an email for the Fedex shipping return. Now I'm freaking out because god knows where my laptop is and god knows if it's actually fixed this time.

Edit: And I've been sitting waiting for support on the phone for 35 minutes now. Since Acer redirects me to the third party support and then back again; cause that's a great way to do that.

Sorry to hear that happening. Kinda sounds like the fans never worked properly. Can't help with repairs but there is a program called SPEEDFAN from Sokno that does a good job of monitoring component temperatures.
