Hello,
I have spotted a problem when I try to increase brightness above 60 %, the laptop (https://www.acer.com/ac/cs/CZ/content/model/NX.GTDEC.001) shuts the backlight down immediately. If I double click fn+f6, it turns on for few seconds but then it turns off again. I tried reinstalling VGA drivers and Windows 10 but that didn't work.
I found out that the problem might be in screen inverter which can't withstand enough current or in the battery which can be faulty.
Can I ask your advice?
Thanks

How long ago did you first notice this? Jack E/NJ

I noticed it on Friday... Today I tried boot notebook with live Xubuntu and the problem remained so I think that it can be a battery problem. Warranty is expired so I want to fix it on my own. I was thinking about removing the battery but I don't know whether the notebook can start without it because the battery is built-in.

Before we take the bottom cover off to access the battery, open ControlPanel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point' in left pane. Is system protection turned on in the box that pops up? If yes, click the system restore button. Click next. Do you see a restore point with a date stamp around last Friday? Jack E/NJ
