Hi
I have this model Predator PH 317-52, i'm having it since september 2018, and I was very satisfied about how it performs on gaming
I am not a big gamer, I just play FIFA series, Forza Horizon 4, and ocassionally some Rockstar Games.
I constantly update my system with the newest drivers, never had problems.
In may 2019 I repasted with Noctua NT-H2, i never had issues with temperatures, but at every 6-8 months I do a repasting, for maximum performance.
In december 2019, I also repasted with same thermal paste, also never having problems with heat.
From the begining of using my laptop I used Throttle Stop and put the processor in max 3.5GHZ with peaks of 85°and 65-70°average in games.
For GPU I didn't used programs to undervolt it, because my temps were max 85 and average 75
For a week I noticed a wild thing. My GPU temps in Forza Horizon and other games that I played (FIFA 20, and Read Dead Redemption 2) reached a maximum of 96 degrees with an average of 90.
Also my CPU goes wild and reaches 99°with an average of 90° WTF?
No frame drops,no lag,no blue screens,I also checked fans of if they are working at full speeds, just these enormous temps.
The question is:For how long my GPU will hold it? Or any solution for fixing it?
Sorry for the long post, but I tried to explain as much as better my problem
Thanks

@Pulex007 when laptop goes 90°C+ then gpu/CPU clock decreases to maintain and protect from temperature but in your case clock speed not decreasing and your temperature reaches 99°C that was very harmful for your system .immediately turn your laptop off, Your system can damage because of this. I recommend you to visit nearest service centre and tell them about Your clock speed not decrease while temperature goes 90C+ and temperature reaching very high

At 99 deg your laptop would have shut off and you say you had no frame drops or lag so I don't think it really was 99 deg. It may be a faulty temperature sensor read out. It probably needs looking at by a local repair shop

Today I will check with Read Dead Redemption 2 to see.
