Another newbie embarked upon a project which now I feel is way above my knowledge and abilities. Nothing to do with the fact that I am 72 - I have done a fair bit of PC installations and fixing in my day. But now with this COVID-19 ***** I am stuck at home and thought I should do something long overdue: Digitalize  some 1200 CDs and DVDs in my library so once I really retire I will get to listen to this regardless of where I am on the PLEX server I will install. So to that end I figured I will re-place my old workhorse Aspire-TC 780 ES13 which served me so well for many years with a new desktop and dedicate the old workhorse to the bulk CD and DVD ripping project. By the way I do legitimately own all the original discs.
So the plan was to add another 4 DVD units to my TC 870  and use dbPoweramp to bulk rip first CDs and later on DVDs. My Aspire has a 2 Tb drive in it so that should be more than enough storage. And since the ripping will most likely take the whole summer I will give the summer job to my university level granddaughters - boring job but steady and pays!
Since there are ony 2 SATA ports on the motherboard and both are used ( one for the SATA drive and the other for the built in DVD drive) I figured I will get me an SATA extension PCIe card. So I got one which sounded could do the job from amazon:

Rivo PCIe SATA Card, 6 Port with 6 SATA Cable, SATA Controller Expansion Card with Low Profile Bracket, Marvell 9215 Non-Raid, Boot as System Disk, Support 6 SATA 3.0 Devices(SA3014)

I stuck the card into the PCIe port on the motherboard, plugged all the SATA cables in and was going to connect them to the 4 DVDs in the dedicated powered computer case next to my TC-870.
The card is supposedly driven by the Marvell 8215 driver but after dozens of downloads of different drivers discussed in this forum and elsewhere I cannot get the driver installed. Nothing shows under my Windows 10.01.18363 Device Manager. I thought that driver can be installed regardless of whether the drives are connected to the card or not!
I have no idea how to proceed. Luckily, did not purchase the DVD drives yet nor  the powered case into which to place them - just wanted to make sure the driver can be installed first. The card seems to be sitting firmly in the  PCIe slot. Nothing can be seen in the BIOS..
So here I am.. stuck. No idea how to proceed.
If anyone can shed some light onto my path to help me find the way I'd be eternally grateful.

If you can’t install drivers on Windows 10, then run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter to resolve the issue. This checks for commonly occurring issues and ensures any new device or hardware is correctly installed on your computer.
