Installing Ubuntu on Predator Triton 2x512GB SSD "no detected operating systems"

After the steps below, the Ubuntu 19.10 Live USB is not able to see the partitions
 * Shrank the Windows OS partition, left a blank portion of disk and created an empty NTFS partition in the remaining portion.
 * Enabled Safe Boot in Windows
 * Changed BIOS SATA from RST Premium to AHCI
 * "Delete All Secure Boot Settings" in the BIOS Security
 * Boot from Ubuntu 19.10 Live USB (there is a bug in 18.04 "Failed to open \EFI\BOOT\..")

The Ubuntu installer says "This computer currently has no detected operating system".
In the "Something else" custom installation type, it sees just two identical 512GB devices: /dev/nvme<xxx>
It's not seeing the disk partitions, to be able to install alongside Windows. Any suggestions?

A secondary (less important) question is whether Ubuntu can be installed while keeping RAID 0 for either or both dual boot OS's. Or does it make much difference?

I have installed Ubuntu in VirtualBox inside Windows instead of Dual Boot, and extended the windows partition back to its original full size.
Can I assume Raid 0 is operating as intended or might the resizing of the partition have affected it? Not sure how to check this
