Hi Guys, I'll try and give as much detail as I can...

I've had this problem before and after an hour or so it weirdly resolved itself.  However, it doesn't seem to be the case this time.

  • Problem began with no lights on the laptop front left, not even when plugged into PSU.
  • After a while of being plugged in, orange light came on
  • When trying to boot there would be one fan blast and the keyboard light would come on but nothing would come up on the display... no acer logo
  • Could not access BIOS (though would like to confirm bios key command)
  • Tried changing RAM stick (only one) slot, however, as of now the computer will not power on at all
I'm fairly savvy (worked tech support for a couple audio companies and have built home studio PC) so I'm comfortable with getting inside the laptop to try any troubleshooting with hardware.

Update: I woke up this morning and tried to start the laptop, it has gone back to lighting up the keyboard, showing the blue light and doing one fan "blast" and then after a minute or so everything turns off again.  Have tried the internal battery reset button, same problem.

Same problem here. Except mine occured when I let my parents watch an old movie they inserted in the Optical Drive. About 45 minutes later an error popped up and tried to reset. I tried booting it up and the fans kick in twice (this is all with a black screen) before completely shutting down again.
