I assume you have restarted and it still asks? Do you see any errors in Device Manager?

Firstly, what is your laptop model? As this is very hard to diagnose without any information. Did you do a Win-10 upgrade? Can you get into Win-10? This "General PnP display" error is a general PnP (pug and play) issue that is not recognized by Windows. Clearly, this is a driver issue or can be related to hardware also.

If you can get into Win-10? Check "Device Manager" and see if there is any driver errors to either to your "Monitors" or "Display adaptors". If its hardware,
it could be a cable problems of your monitor, open your laptop and check the monitor cable condition and if its pugged in properly? Monitor cables do get damaged by the laptop hinge, as the cable is very close to either the left or right hinge. If its a graphics driver problem, then get a specific driver for your graphics (if its a 2nd party graphics card?) as Win-10 update can't find a specific generic driver for it.
