Open DeviceManager. Click 'network adapters' folder . Right click the wifi adapter. Select uninstall. Then exit Device Manager without re-installing anything. Then Open ControlPanel. Search 'button'. Click 'choose what the power buttons do' in left pane. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable'. Scroll down and uncheck the box for fast startup. Then shutdown Windows. Then turn the machine back on. Jack E/NJ

What didn't work? Disabling the SMPS power saving feature? Or uninstalling the wifi and disabling fast startup? Or all three? If they all failed, then by all means return it quickly as defective for a refund or exchange before BB's RMA policy period expires. I think it's two weeks. Jack E/NJ
