Hi all, this may be a ridiculous question... but i just bought this laptop and I was told by multiple people ( WHO HAVE THE LAPTOP ) that they are able to work throught the night because there is backlight in the keyboard.... yet mine does not.... is this because mine is a Danish keyboard?? Can someone clarify this for me please?
Thank you.

I use the Turkish version of the keyboard. At first, I too experienced the same question. On my keyboard, I can activate the backlight with Fn + F8. You will see an "A" letter with light symbol on your keyboard, probably on F keys.

Hi muhlisgursoy... I tried what you suggested... nothing happened....  :(
But that means that the function SHOULD be there right? what should I do ? should I take it back to the store and ask them when there is no backlight? or is it a driver i have to install?

I would suggest you check the laptop's User Manual that comes within the box, as I think it should define how to do that on the Danish keyboard.

Can you write down your model name (i.e: SF315-52G)? Maybe some models don't have that feature.

Hi muhlisgursoy, mine didnt really come with a manual... only two thin "booklets" ... nothing to indicate the functions of the laptop itself.... mine is a sf314-41... SO DISAPPOINTING... other then this issue the laptop really is QUITE great! if it turns out mine is one of those that does not come with it... is there any way I can get it "upgraded" *as in install one myself? what does it need? Just a driver download ?
Thanks for your input and help.

I searched the model on Google and found that your laptop has the backlight keyboard function. Or at least, it should have.

OK, I think I have a solution. When I first buy it, the Fn button was switched with the Alt button, in BIOS. Because of that, at first, the Fn + F8 didn't work because the BIOS uses "Media Key" as default. Can you try Alt + F8? Or at least, can you try any of the Fn functions like brightness and sound loudness with Alt + F** ?

If they work, shut down your laptop. Open it again and when the Acer logo appears, press the F2 button till the BIOS menu opens. There should be an option for function/media key there, switch it from Media Key to Function Key. Exit with saving, log in to your Windows 10 and try Fn + F8 again. I think it should work.
