Just received my new 27" Acer R271 monitor.  In attempting to hook it up, I find that the connectors and cables supplied do not match my AMD Radeon RX 580 Video Card.  My question is, 1) Is there an "adapter cable" that will bridge old VGA technology to the new technology supplied with this monitor or 2) Am I stuck having to now buy a new video card that will work in tandem with this monitor?  I am attempting to use this monitor on my desktop computer.

Sure, you can use an adapter to convert the VGA or DVI to HDMI or DP. Just be aware that the adapters are often only one way, so you would want to get a VGA to HDMI adapter, not an HDMI to VGA adapter. Most of them offered on places like Amazon are clear, you just have to be aware of what you need because the searches ignore the order of the words.
