I just recently Purchased the Nitro 5 on Walmart.com for a good price. When it arrived the battery came with no charge present. So before my initial  setup I plugged it in and let it charge a bit. After setup it did charge to 100%. Besides the new AMD drivers having issues switching between GPUS for gaming I have had no issues with the latop. When I left to work today I unplugged it and didn't bring the charger. When I tried turning it on it did not power on. No lights or anything. Could I have a issue with my battery. I tried sticking a paper clip in the batter reset hold but still nothing . Any ideas? I will try to get the charger before I am off and do further testing.

Hey, I had sort of the same problem before. Can you tell me if your battery and power on LEDs are working or not? If not then try using a different charger. If it still doesn't work try removing the battery and connecting it to charger without battery and check if it turns on.
So I plugged it into the charger again and strangely it acted like a factory reset on windows. When plugged in and on both lights are blue indicating a full charge. Really weird and bizarre.
Sorry I didn't get it. What do you mean by "strangely it acted like a factory reset on windows"?
It started up into windows install/setup. However the second time time I started it, it booted right back into windows as it should of.
Is everything working right now? Any sudden shutdowns?
Not unless I pull the charger off the laptop then it just dies and will not turn back on.
I won't recommend you to open your laptop to check all the connections to your battery but if you want you can do it or else you can get your laptop repaired by an Acer official

So windows indicates I have a full charge and the blue light on the laptop says I do as well. How ever when ever I pull the cable it instantly dies and won't turn back on unless its on wall power. Any thoughts? I'm starting to think I just got a bad battery from the factory.

Sorry, I missed this message and yes, it totally is a battery issue but your laptop is still in warranty so you should get the battery replaced

Also @Corez, you shouldn't go out in this situation, you can use your laptop on adapter power in the mean time. Thank you for marking my comment as an answer, stay safe!

I have to send it into acer for repair. So until I get the shipping information to do so that is what I am going to do.
