Hello to you all,  having found partial advice on this forum, I want to ask help for my specific fault.

I have been given an Aspire M5-583P-6637, my friend said 'it has a bad connection between screen and board'.
The unit powers up with the blue and orange light.  Connecting the power pack it beeps.  You can toggle the keyboard lights with FN F9.
But the screen is completely dead, no start up logo, nothing.
I followed the advice on this archive post (https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/179641/acer-aspire-m5-screen-display-black?breakffcache=2eacb) by disabling the battery (holding the pin in for 30 seconds) and powering up to reset the CMOS?  I even took the back off and removed the round battery and disabled the battery.  I also removed the RAM and put it back as well as removing the screen cable and reconnecting it.  The screen is blank.
I also hitched up an HDMI cable and connected it to another laptop, toggling FN F5 and FN F6 on both machines.  I also connected with HDMI through my TV, nothing.
That other post talked about BIOS, but without a specific tutorial I haven't tried that, yet and unsure if it will help if the project screen doesn't work..
Are there any other tests or fixes I can perform, or is it time to say goodbye?
Thanks,
Andy
