Can I remove my hardrive before sending my PC in for a repair?

Hello.

Recently my PC has encountered some problems with my PC in which the HDMI port no longer functions, as well as a problem with my battery not charging fully. These seem to be totally hardware based problems. Fortunately my PC is still in warranty, so I would like to send it in for repair. However, the instructions for the repair tell me to remove my password and backup the PC in the event they wipe my drives. For obvious reasons, I am incredibly reluctant to just remove my passwords from my PC and mail it to strangers. Seeing as my problems appear to be totally physical, could I just remove my hard drive from my computer before sending it in? There's no need whatsoever for anyone but me to need to have it, and the repair specialists could just use a blank one.

Thank You.

I'm not sure, but you must ship it with the original hardware. For example: if you installed an ssd m2 2280, you must remove it before shipping the computer. Now, on the hdd, you can check with Acer technical support, whether you can ship the computer without the hdd. But I believe that it is not possible.
