This is the worst laptop/PC I have ever owned. It has been complete garbage since day one. It's marketed as a gaming laptop, but crashes trying to open world of warcraft and other games due to no memory. So somehow between 8gb and then the onboard memory of the 1060 it can't operate one simple game with nothing else open. Is this just bad luck? Are they all complete trash?

Obviously. Not or there wouldn’t be thousands of people using them to game successfully.
Perhaps you might start by giving us your exact model number PH***-**
then describe in detail what happens when it crashes, and temperature of the CPU.
Have you setup your GPU in the Nvidia Control Center, if not follow my walkthrough below and report back

Make sure you do this below and always game on 100% battery BEFORE gaming and KEEP plugged in while gaming, in your Windows Power plan select High Performance when on AC

    1. Download and install the latest Nvidia drivers from here
    https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx

    2. Go to the Nvidia control center and click Manage 3d settings tab, then click the Global Settings tab and change Preferred Graphics processor from Auto select to your Nvidia GPU, do this by clicking the downward arrow to the right of Auto Select and select the Nvidia GPU. Then under the Program Settings tab select the programs and games that you want to run on the Nvidia GPU. Do the same under the Set PhysX Configuration tab

Please click YES if I answered your question

I am not an ACER employee
Thank you and have a blessed day  B)

Garbagelaptop seems to me by your comments youre the one who doenst know how to use it properly also you need to upgrade to 16gb dual channel minimum 8gb its not enough thats why its cheap you have to upgrade it yourself i recommend hyperx or vengeance and also upgrade your ssd to a larger one if you have one if you only have hdd get an ssd also your username its offensive and disrespectful to everyone of us that are here only voluntary on our own free time to help in the best way we can we don not work for acer neither this community is  a direct acer support channel inh my view with that username you dont deserve anyone's help but im giving it anyway either you want it or not

If you hate it so much why did you bought it in the first place i never had a single issue with mine since the first week i got it and i optimized windows/undervolted/repasted and upgraded everything i could to the max this was 2 years ago still the same today its just a case or you knowing what to do and also be willing to

PS: i had the same exact issues as you have crashing not enough memory the solution as i already said its to upgrade the ram and ssd to be able to upgrade the windows virtual memory to 10gb and its solved
