Hello, I bought this chromebook acer c732 series last year, and I would like to set ubuntu in it. I found my way to do it, except that I cant fully complete the installation because of the write protection. Could anyone help me disabling this parameter? I put a picture of the motherboard because I cannot find the screw related to that.
Thanks in advance.

I did not find the screw no. I used the mrchromebox' firmware and then I am able to root from a usb drive, but it would be easier to disable to write protection.

At a significant risk of bricking the machine, you can try this.

    1. Change to developer mode.
    2. Turn it off.
    3. Remove bottom cover and temporarily disconnect battery pack. Button it back up.
    4. Turn it back on with charger alone.
    5. Press Ctrl_D.
    6. Log in.
    7. Press Ctrl+ALT+T.
    8. At terminal prompt enter 'shell'.
    9. Then enter 'sudo sh'.
    10. Then enter 'flashrom -p host —wp-disable.
