How do I Fix this?

Hey guys,
So I got my helios 300 a few months back and researched ways to improve gaming speed. I am new to computers in general and just followed the video I found. While some improvements were made to game speed the laptop itself has become painstakingly slow, even booting up and opening browsers seem to lag to a more than noticeable degree. Im considering backing up the laptop onto a 2 tb drive and just factory resetting. anyone have any ideas as to avoid such drastic measures? or how to succesfully backup onto a drive?

    Good evening Slagmasterflex !

Have you checked the task manager to see if the 100% disk usage error occurs?
Did you check if there are many applications booting with the system?

Use control panel to uninstall, not just disable, any non-Microsoft virus scanners like McAfee, Norton, MalwareBytes, AVS, etc. Most folks only need Windows Defender and Microsoft Malicious Software Removal tool. They are updated regularly by Microsoft. Jack E/NJ
