Hiya,

Bought predator Helios 300 3 days ago and all is good but tonight it did some windows update and restarted then I got a black message box saying "Issue detected, killer stopped working, go to killernetworking for drivers"

went to website but it doesn't actually specify which drivers I need and tried to download a couple of them but they didn't work and still got message so ive had to do a full factory reset, anyone else having this issue, cant be doing this every 3 days for £1300 laptop.

oGunnerso disable windows updates from updating driver/bios only update whatever yo need manually and only when needed microsoft updates tend to create more issues than fixing i would keep away from it also read pinned thread about it

Open Control Panel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point' in the left pane. In the box that pops up, is System Protection turned on? If yes, click 'system restore' button. Click 'next'. Click on the restore point with a date stamp when the issue began. If it fixes the problem, the update can be blocked till the issue is fixed by Microsoft. Jack E/NJ

First, which Windows Update did you install? Is it the v1909 "March 12, 2020—KB4551762 (OS Builds 18362.720 and 18363.720)"? As the latest MS Win-10 have done nothing to my Helios drivers including the Killer. Btw, I did a complete clean install of Win10 Pro when I got my Helios, which could have a bearing with Acer OEM software that is giving you problems.

Warning: don't disable "Windows Update" as its an essential part of windows and you will cause more damage by disabling it!

Uninstall and reinstall the Killer drivers again, its very simple, go here for "Killer Software Package - Windows 10 1803+" and here for the "Bluetooth for Killer 1650 & 1550 - Windows 10" as there must be something else wrong and its not with Windows Update! If your problem persists then uninstall the last Windows Update that started this problem as MS has only release 1 latest update, which is the one that I quoted above, see here for details: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/4551762/windows-10-update-kb4551762 but this and a previous update dated March 10, 2020—KB4540673 (OS Builds 18362.719 and 18363.719) have nothing to do with wifi and or Bluetooth and it hasn't affected anything on my Helios.
