Has anybody been able to get Debian 10.3 (Buster) to run on an Acer A515-43-R19L?

Looking for trouble-shooting advice installing and running Debian 10.3 (code name Buster) using Gnome or XFCE environments. The Live distributions will boot, but fail to load the desktop, and the system hangs with just a blinking cursor. When attempting an actual installation, using either a Live USB or a NetInst USB, the installation proceeds normally, and completes successfully. But, again, the system hangs before the desktop environment opens. I've also tried the Live + Non-Free versions. Using recovery mode from the GRUB menu, I can boot to a root prompt.

I suspect this may be a driver version problem with Debian 10.3 as either Fedora 31 or OpenSuse 17.1 install and run as expected. So, it may not be "fixable" until a future Debian release.

Hi you need distro with kernel 5.0.0 and above in order to run xfce or gnome. This is a new architecture and it is not included in the kernels  < 4.X. You can try to run debian with the kernel boot option "nomodeset" and after that to update mesa and the kernel
