    Hello @egydiocoelho ,

    Yes even on battery the results are the same. The laptop turns off in 3 minutes. An addtional detail is that the system time feezes at the time at which the system turned off ! No sure why this happens. Also the laptop does not turn on for the next 20 min or so.

    Thanks,

    nithinprabhu053 well after the units go to RMA and they still have problems after you will have to keep pushing it for them to fix it as we are here to try to help anyone before send it in to prevent it if possible because after they send the unit in its (at least with me all other ACES might not think the same way as me but i will definitely step down from helping in any way after any unit that was already sent to RMA and returned still with issues as we arent acer employees were normal users just here voluntarily on our own time)  nothing to do with us anymore as its acer support responsibility to get it fixed under warranty by repairing/replacing whats needed good luck :)

    Hello @xapim,

    I agree with you. I have been head hunting ACER Support Reps responsible for this repair. But since it's been 1.5 Months after the repair and i'm out of warranty now, this worries me. This was my second laptop (ever) first one was HP which is still alive by the way and cost half the price of this one. Really sad that a huge investment has gone in vain ! Bad move on my part choosing ACER. Well that said this community has been great ! Really awesome to see the support from members here.

    Thanks & Regards,

    nithinprabhu053 even if youre out of warrranty they should grant you an extended time period not just because of the pandemic but because it went to RMA already they should had provided you with a receipt or email or something confirming what was done you just have to keep pushing its the only way unfortunately also the acer laptops are one of the best you can buy the next best i can think of its msi not even asus can compete with the price/hardware but of course like in all mass manufacturing industry there will always be some lemons in the basket and in the millions of units sold this community only has here the ones who have issues its a rare case someone posting to say they are completely happy with the product and most times its just software wise mostly windows updates screwing everything up not even acer fault im not defending anyone here but its the reality so as i said keep pushing make it escalate to the highest position available on your country support hope u get it fixed soon and good luck :)

    @xapim,

    That's fair I can't be blaming the Hardware, it may as well be the OS. I have both receipt as well as emails for this repair, it should get me through. Fingers Crossed ! Thanks Again !

  • You said that "

    I also think there is a hardware problem. However, as you reported that the time and date change, that is, they change, I would try to change the rtc battery, even though I think that the rtc battery would not cause the system to shut down.

    Yes @xapim , Will update this thread. The first update I have is I emailed ACER Support Team. Their response is positive. They told me they will get in touch with me "soon".

    Yes @egydiocoelho, I suspect there is some hardware failure. If there is a hardware failure because of this I suspect the quality service done by ACER.

    @egydiocoelho I'm currently not under warranty but I will wait till the ACER Team gets in touch with me again before I make any changes to the hardware. I suspect if I make any hardware changes ACER will just reject my request for help.

    The rtc battery wouldnt cause any shutdown anyway its purpose its to save the bios settings only nothing else any laptop/desktop can work fine without a battery the issue is the bios will not save any settings :)
