CPU rises when laptop is plugged in...should I worry
Hi everyone.
I have an Acer Predator Helios 300 and I bought it around late December. I love it.
I'm just a little worried that it's heating too much.
Recently I've found that unplugged and idle, the CPU sits at late 40's to mid 50's (degrees celcius) but once plugged in to the mains it instantly rises to mid 70's even whilst doing very little.. For a while I wondered if it was because of my plugging it via HDMI to my TV or an external monitor but I've since realised that this makes no difference.
Even now, all I am doing is sitting online typing this out with Predator sense open in the background and the CPU is sat at 77 degrees.
Now i have unplugged it, and it drops within seconds to 58 degrees then sort of remains jumping between mid 40s and mid 50's. Is this something I should worry about?
Ideally I would like to be able to occasionally run some demanding programs (games for example) with the unit plugged in and not have to worry about frying my laptop's insides.
Can anyone tell me if my laptop may be in trouble or is this normal.
Thanks in advance
Jay
