Keys are getting VERY hot...does thermal paste only help internal temps?

Hi everyone, I posted a while ago about letting my warranty take care of my overheating issues by repasting...yeah they still haven't sent me the information I need to mail the package to them. In the mean time, I've been very uncomfortable with the temps of my keyboard, it's VERY toasty. I have heard other people complain about the strip below the screen getting hot, but I don't care about that, my issue is that my keys are nearly the same temp as that hot strip! Anyway, I'm just curious if repasting and undervolting will help this or if it will only change thermal throttling.

Overclockedmygtx660m yes thermal paste usually only helps internal temps, the keyboard will still heat a bit but if the internal temps are dropped the keyboard wont be so hot either and the internal generates all the outside heat i recommend kryonaut or similar and yes optimize windows and undervolt check here sometimes undervolting its enough but in some cases its the silicone lottery repasting is needed just make sure your cpu its on 75/85 max and gpu 70/75
