Nitro 5 temperatures

My girlfriend has a Nitro 5 AN515-54 with a 9th gen i5 (probably the 9300H). She has seen the CPU temp rise to up to 96 C while playing GTA 5. Normally it's somewhere around 90 C. We went to a local store to buy a cooling pad and the clerk said that 90 C is unusually high in GTA. I'm a bit sceptical about this. With the cooling pad temperatures still rise to over 90 C but I think the performance is now better and that the CPU is still thermal throttling. The clerk told us that the factory has made a mistake while applying thermal paste and that we should contact Acer about this. What do you guys think? It's a small gaming laptop after all so I personally wouldn't expect insane cooling capability from it.

    Good evening AvA !

Access the Windows power plan and set it to high performance (if you're not using it).
Then, in the advanced options, in power managemnt processor, seven the maximum value for 99%.
    Restart and do a test.

The store clerk was right it is common knowledge that the Heat Paste used in manufacture is not good. Many of the dedicated gamers repaste with something like Grizzly Kryonaut.
As my colleague says make sure you are set to high performance and set the CPU to 99% or instead of setting the CPU to 99% you can use an undervolting package. One of our dedicated gamers has designed a series of custom premade Throttlestop undervolt packages that are super simple to use, well tested and safe, click the link below
