I have an Acer Swift 3 with Radeon Vega 3 graphics.  When I attach a TV through an HDMI cable, the edges of the screen are outside the viewable TV screen.  How can I scale the TV picture to match the laptop screen?

    Good Morning Carina16a !

Which EXACT model of TV and laptop?
The default configuration is that both must be set to the same resolution and the HDMI cable must be homologated and supported.

What you are looking for is "overscan" settings. On a TV the display is set to be a bit larger than the viewable area so you don't get a border on the edge. Most modern TVs support removing overscan for some input signals. If your TV doesn't have that capability, you'll have to do it on the PC and that means we'll need to know your full model number and OS version.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I think the problem lies with the TV upscaling.  TV is an LG 24TL510S.  Haven't yet been able to find a way to disable the upscaling and would welcome suggestions.
On thought does strike me, the TV has wifi capability.  Should I try that route and forget the HDMI option?  The installation is with a neighbour who suffered a stroke some years ago and I am trying to update her very old system to Windows 10.  Reasonable success, but not happy with the upscaled screen.

Give it a try, hit Windows-P and choose "Connect to a wireless display" to see if the TV is listed. I have a 4 year old Samsung TV and it works for static stuff well enough, but stutters on video.
