Swift 5 SF514-54GT Ice Lake running RAM at only 2660 MHz?

Hi! I just received my Swift 5 SF514-54GT and it looks like the RAM is running at only ~2660 MHz. Using HWiNFO System Summary window, the memory clock is shown as hovering around 1330 MHz (times two is ~2660 MHz). When I check the specifications in the Memory section of HWiNFO's main window, it says:

Maximum Supported Memory Clock: 1866.7 MHz
Current Memory Clock: 1330 MHz
Current Timing: 24-24-24-56

It doesn't change with CPU load. Is this normal? Can anyone else confirm what their Swift 5 with Ice Lake i7-1065G7 show?

Hi,
Yes, the LPDDR4 modules are capable of higher speeds but the speed may have been restricted to compliment rest of the hardware.

It's interesting that Acer seems to have used some very low spec memory for this laptop. DDR4-2667 @ 24-24-24-56 is pretty terrible (if the readings from HWiNFO can be trusted).

Seems you were wrong. The RAM in this Swift 5 is (as read by HWiNFO):

SK Hynix H9HCNNNCPMALHR-NEE

This is a 4GB LPDDR4X 4266 Mbps device (there's four of them in this laptop since it has 16GB RAM). It should be running at 3733 Mbps data rate. The frequency info from HWiNFO is probably just wrong, but would be nice if someone else could verify on theirs.

Okay, but where does this info come from? I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

Anyway, it seems you were right. Maybe the rest of the hardware (motherboard?) is not stable enough to support the full speed that both the CPU and the RAM are validated for. Bit of a shame, but what can you do.

Hi,
It's from the service manual which is not available to public, I can understand your frustration but we need to be patient with the technology, it has to be developed gradually to get everything work as it should, anyway, that's my understanding on these matters.

Okay, thanks. I just saw that it appears the memory speed was lowered in the first publicly available BIOS due to blue screen of death:

”Disable Memory configure of SAGV for MFG BSOD issue”

Do you know if there might be a BIOS fix for this later or if this model is forever stuck in 2667 MHz mode for the RAM?

I have no clue at all, I am just another user of Acer products and not an employee of Acer.
