X27P reduced refresh rate after standby

I have Windows HDR mode enabled and refresh rate set to 98Hz for my X27P. However, when the monitor comes out of standby mode, it reverts to SDR mode with refresh rate of 82Hz. At that point, I cannot re-enable HDR from Windows display settings anymore. If I simply use the "Apply & Reboot" option in the Gaming section of monitor OSD (without changing any settings), the monitor reboots and HDR mode is re-enabled again with correct 98Hz refresh rate.

This is super annoying and I know multiple people having the same issue and not only with Acer brand (Asus 4k model as well). It looks like DisplayPort 1.4 gets "downgraded" to 1.2 bandwidth. I am using the Acer DisplayPort cable included.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Some people say disabling "DP Deep Sleep" fixes this, but then the monitor fan never ever turns off which will make it fail faster, so not a solution.

Anything else to try? What exactly is causing this?
