Recently my PC has started booting into the Bios menu (recovery tab) instead of going straight to windows. The message on the recovery tab is "Rom Image update denied, EFI_Aborted Rom Image is not loaded". Once I hit escape and enter it goes ahead and boots to windows. I don't think I have made any changes that would have caused this. Anyone have an idea why this is happening?

I have the same issue after quite a hassle with a BIOS update and frozen SSD drives. I'm no computer guru but positive it is BIOS/HDD related. My 2Tb HDD reported 2 uncorrectable errors using GSmartControl.

This can also happen with certain viruses, they are trying to change the UEFI image at startup and the system is denying them that access, quite correctly. Try a full scan with something like Malwarebytes...
