We keep coming back to my earlier question. I'm still not sure about your answer yet. Have you in fact downloaded and tried DriverBooster or similar freeware device driver tools to see if they'll pick up any alternate drivers that may help improve the contrast issues? Nothing irreversibly bad should happen if the tools pick up and install an alternate driver that doesn't help. You can always get back to where you started with this contrast issue. Jack E/NJ

Thanks for the reminder JackE.  I ran into a few antivirus difficulties, and combined with the fact that the work week isn't very free, I only attack this problem using disparate pieces of time.  I totally forgot about your suggestion about the ACER Quick Access app and DriverBooster.  The former didn't seem to show anything that might help, while the latter showed the following up-to-date drivers:
    • Display adapters: Itel(R) UHD Graphic 620, 2018-04-18
    • Monitors: Generic Non-PnP Monitor, 2006-06-21
All the rest pertained to battery control, wireless, disc drives, sound, Ethernet, I/O buses, USB, thermal management, camera, power control, printers, firmware, physical input devices, the processor itself, security, and dot-NET/Visual-C++ support for gaming.

I think I better get use to an astoundingly bad display.  But I appreciate your suggestions.

Is there any other way to calibrate the contrast on the Acer TravelMate P2 P2410-G2-M NX.VGTAA.006?

When I type "gamma" in the Windows 10 search, I get an app for "Display Color Calibration".  Even though the process makes the contrast as good as can be, it still strains the eyes (at any brightness level).  I use a lot of laptops and display monitors at work and home, so I don't think I'm lacking in context in making this assessment.  Hoping that something can be done, as I hope to keep my new-ish laptop (about a month old) for many years.  As-is, however, the contrast is an albatross.

    Thanks.
    Hi ConsideringAc3r,

I have a solution. I bought Acer TravelMate P2, three days ago, and believe me, its contrast badly affected on my eyes. I tried each and everything to set colors but, nothing worked. I even tried to install new display driver which can replace "intel UHD graphics 620" but that couldn't happen too.

Then I got one video which made my day. Please check below video and do exactly what it says, I got great resutls.

Afterwards, for "smooth fonts" and "fonts contrast", follow this article of Microsoft.
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/desktop/wpf/advanced/cleartype-registry-settings?view=netframeworkdesktop-4.8

Make "dword-32" key of "ClearTypeLevel", set Hexadecimal value "64" (as mentioned in the article), then make a new key of dword-32 for "TextContrastLevel", and set Hexadecimal value as "2" and if "GammaLevel" decimal value as "1900". If GammaLevel key is not present, make one.

After all changes, restart your acer travelmate p2 and change the difference.

Must reply if you issue resolved.
