My Acer Aspire 5940G laptop keeps turning off before booting up fully, when run from the battery
The first issue I had was a shortened battery life, so I replaced the battery.
The laptop kept running very hot, suddenly turning off (not closing down, just dying) and the battery life was still poor, so I had the CPU thermal paste replaced and the air vents cleaned by a 'professional'.
Now my laptop is still suddenly turning off before the battery is exhausted, often before it has even booted up (whilst the battery is fully charged) and when it does boot up the laptop clock needs refreshing / resetting to the correct time and date.
Do I just need to replace the 'watch' battery on the motherboard, or is there something else that needs doing?
Regards
Steve
