How do I update Google Chrome to the latest version on my outdated laptop?

I just found out that my Google Chrome system needs to be updated but it is out of warranty.  I would like to do the update myself but I need help to do that because I have no clue how to do it.  Anyone have any clue that can walk me thru it?

    Good evening BudBella !

Your question has a misinterpretation ...
Google Chrome is a browser developed by Google.
I believe it refers to Chrome OS, right?
If so, you have a Chrome Book laptop, right again?

Yes my system is a Chromebook and yes it uses Chrome OS.  I still have no idea how to update the system when it says that there is no update at all.  I have tried everything the system is telling me to do but it seems that the system is out of date and will no longer let me do an update on it.  What can I do to get this up to date?

Out of curiosity,  have you been able to fix the issue?
I have the same problem with mine.
