Hello,

How do I go about making BIOS changes using WMI implementation? HP, Dell and lenovo all have the means to modify BIOS settings from within Windows using command line either through WMI or powershell. Is this not possible with Acer?

The point is that the forum rules do not allow sharing of such information.
I suggest contacting Acer support in your country / region directly.

    Good evening Sysaphys !

Acer does not provide a Bios base for changes.
The forum rules do not allow any kind of sharing about such procedures.
Such procedures invalidate and violate equipment warranty.

Greeting Mclane, to clarify I am not talking about modifying the base BIOS code. I am talking about changing the BIOS settings like the BIOS admin password or enabling wake on lan through Windows using WMI or powershell commands. Changing BIOS settings is not in any way shape or form against warranty or rules of any kind as far as discussing changing settings. Again so that we are clear on the subject matter, I am not talking about changing BIOS code or re-writing BIOS code but making changes you would normally do from within BIOS, only implementing those changes from within Windows. Does this clarify what it is I am asking about?

Yes, I understood from the beginning.
I know WMI and its implementations and advantages in networks and data management.
However, Acer does not provide a Bios base for further modifications and any change in the standard functions of the Bios generates a violation and voids warranty.

So, You're telling me that Acer's stance is that I can log into BIOS by pressing del or F1 or whatever, and set the BIOS password to whatever I want and that is perfectly fine (I assume) but if I try to set the password by any other means then I'm voiding the warranty? If that's the case then what's the point in having an EFI based BIOS if you don't allow the OS to interact with the firmware? None of this makes any rational sense. Also, what if I don't care about voiding warranty? I have thousands of Acer desktops and laptops deployed across hundreds of schools, none of which are under warranty. I need the ability to modify the BIOS of those machines, warranty or not.
