Help! My Laptop Screen Flashes Black When Turned On

Hello Everyone,
I’m super new to the community (as in a few minutes ago!) but signed on because I desperately need the help of your brilliant minds! For some time now, when I power up my laptop, the screen flashes black. It doesn’t even go to a start/sign-in screen. It literally just is black, and flashes a different tone of black that I’m you usually see behind the Acer logo when your laptop first starts up.
In the past I’d just leave it and hope for the best. It would eventually turn on but I have no idea how. Or, I’d turn it off and on and hope that worked. It’s an Aspire V7. Thank you in advance for your help!
