Is overclocking when gaming hard or harmful in any way?

Lately I've been using Predator Sense (I have a Predator Helios 300) to overclock my CPU and GPU while playing World of Warcraft, mostly to keep the system cooler and to compensate for lag spikes occurring around big groups of characters.

I've always been afraid of overclocking on any of my computers (80 "normal" to 1400 "faster" mhz usually with fans at 90% or so) because I didn't want it to damage any hardware.

If anyone could break this down for me that would be awesome! Also my system info report (copy-paste), for more precise estimates.

Thank you! :)
