Aspire E1-510 slow wifi

I have an Aspire E1-510. It's about 5 years old now.  It has never given me any issues although it's been slowing down (as expected with it's age).
I was recently hacked, so as a precaution I completely wiped my laptop and did a fresh windows 10 install. I have removed all of the bloatware and unused software. I have power saving turned off. The laptop is still very laggy but again, it's old. I'll get a SSD to solve that. My biggest issue is the WiFi. It was never an issue before. But for some reason I am only getting about 30mbps up and 30mbps down.  I have gigabit internet, my laptop is about 10 feet from the router, and the router is out in the open.
I've also checked and my driver's are up to date.
Is there a way to adjust the speeds?  Just wondering if I reset something when I wiped the computer because it's never been slow like this before.

    Good evening Mgf76 !

Which EXACT model of your laptop?
Acer does not provide drivers approved for Windows 10 in this series.
Did you check if the wireless card is at maximum performance in the advanced options of the power plan?

    Thanks for the response.
The exact model is acer e1-510p-4402.
I did the windows 10 upgrade as soon as it was available a couple of years ago and didn't have any issues until now since I've wiped the laptop to nothing and reinstalled windows 10.
I'm not home to check the wifi card performance. But to be honest I don't recall seeing a wifi card performance option. If I saw it I'd have definitely jacked it up to max. I'll be home from work in a couple of hours and will look for the option then.
