ELAN touchpad: Software to turn left button or any key into middle button?

I joined the throngs migrating away from Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro and bought an Acer TravelMat P2 (https://www.acer.com/ac/en/CA/content/professional-model/NX.VGTAA.006):

 * Model name: TMP2410-G2-M-55HN
 * Part number: NX.VGTAA.006

It has an ELAN touchpad and driver, so there's no point trying to install Synaptics (which is perilous anyway, if it doesn't already come installed).

Is there any software that will turn the left button into a middle mouse button?

Is there software that allows *any* key to act as the middle mouse button?

The Windows 10 customization only lets a 3-finger tap act as a click of the middle button.  It does not provide a means for clicking, holding, and dragging.

Other have asked the same question, though I haven't yet heard of a solution, short of connecting an actual mouse.
