m.2 support and installation for aspire 7 a715-71g-7922

Hi

i have acer aspire 7 a715-71g-7922

with i7 7700hq and gtx 1050ti

does it support m.2 nvme PCI Express x4?

and i want to put 1TB is that fine?

installation:
before taking off the back cover.. should i turn off the battery??
and is it necessary to remove the hdd?

Hi,
Yes, you can install M.2 NVMe SSD, one of our member has installed 1TB drive, so you have to take his words and try, you don't have to turn off the battery but once you open the back cover it's better to disconnect the battery, you don't have to remove the HDD.
You have to install HWiNFO64 program, run it and check the Maximum Link width values for each PCI Express Root Ports, if you find one of them having a value of 2x, then your SSD will run at half the advertised speed.

I would like to confirm some information for this model..

acer aspire 7 a715-71g-7922

its support 1TB NVMe SSD - Gen3 x4 PCIe 8Gb/s, M.2 2280

installation:
1. shutdown the windows system 
2. unplug the charger and anything else 
3. try to disconnect the battery using a pin
4. Remove HDD door, RAM door and take away the HDD.
5. Remove all the screws at the bottom cover.

if you dont have m.2 screw, you can use one of the HDD screws

My apologies, I forgot that HWiNFO64 is not useful for this model, I was thinking about different model, anyway, you can install a M.2 NVMe SSD but you may be limited to PCIe3.0x2 but you have to install to find out or we have to wait for someone using the SSD in their model.
