Hi,
I'm looking to upgrade the processor in my Acer Veriton M265 desktop. It has the E5300 Pentium running at 2.6 GHz. I saw a post about a similar subject but needed some more information before buying a new chip. A response to the previous post listed the processors that were compatible with this computer as shown below:
KC.83001.QQ0 | CPU QUAD.Q8300/2.5G/4M/1333/ |
KC.83001.QQV | CPU QUAD.Q8300/2.5G/4M/1333/95W |
KC.84001.QQ0 | CPU QUAD.Q8400/2.66G/4M/1333 |
KC.94001.QQ0 | CPU.QUAD.Q9400/2.66G/2*3M/1333 |
KC.95501.QQ0 | CPU.Q9550/2.83G/2*6M/1333/C1 |
KC.95501.QQE | CPU.Q9550/2.83G/2*6M/1333/E0 |
The Q9550 series shown lists the L2 Cache as 6 meg, but the Intel site states that the Q9550 series chips have 12 meg of L2 Cache. Are the Intel chips with the 12 meg of L2 cache going to work in my computer? Also, since the Q9550 series states that the base frequency is 2.83 GHz, will this chip work in my computer with a 2.6 GHz frequency?
