Aspire TC-885 novice confused about C : Drive and D : Drive

I am a newbie to the Acer Desktops and I have a the TC-885 which has the 1TB storage, but I notice it has 2 drives, which I am not used to.

 I've always been used to just having one drive the C: Drive but this PC has 2: 

- Acer (C:)
- Data (D:)

I note that the 1TB is split across the drives so I'm just looking for advice on how I use these drives, I notice right now everything seems to be stored in the Acer C : Drive so what is the purpose of the Data Drive?

Hi,

It's convenient to save important data in a separate partition than the one in Operating system resides because if in case of any system failure you won't loose your data, if you can manage transferring to D drive manually, you can create a new folder in D partition and transfer from C partition, if you prefer the system to do it for you, please read this tutorial for instructions to change the storage location:https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/23790-change-storage-save-locations-windows-10-a.html
