Motherboard Swift 3

I bought a $700 swift 3 , 2 yrs ago for my daughter to use at university. The motherboard is done. It is not under warranty (of course)
Has anyone had one repaired thru Acer under a goodwill policy? This is clearly a quality issue and I shouldn't have to pay another $500 (Cdn. Acer cost) to have a motherboard replaced.

Sorry, never heard of this. Outside-of-warranty repairs like this usually cost as much as a refurb from ACER recertified dot com.  If you post the full model number, SF31x-xx, a new mainboard probably could be ordered at much less cost and installed by a local shop. Jack E/NJ

From what the techs are saying Acer doesn't sell their motherboards and the motherboards are very specific to this model of laptop.(a motherboard made for this laptop made in China has a good chance of not working if mine is from North America  even if the part number is exactly the same.) So sourcing is an issue.
Sorry , parts need to last more than 2 years.
Acer won't acknowledge a quality issue because of the ramifications.  So they lose one customer at a time, me being one of them. They have the ability  to correct issues on a case by case basis but refuse.
If you are out of warranty you can't even talk to someone at Acer , it goes to a third party service. That's their customer service.
    Pathetic.

The mainboards go by part numbers. Sorry, if I can't get the full ACER SF31x-xx model number, I can't get you the mainboard part number. Jack E/NJ

You seem to have a choice of two mainboards that'll work. Part Nos.

(NBGQF11002 sometimes listed as NB.GQF11.002 8GB RAM) or (NB.GQF11.001 4GB RAM) both with the i5-8250u CPU.

Surprisingly, the 8GB mainboard seemed to be cheaper. Lowest price I found was about $350USD for a new board.

Thanks for your help Jacke. Unfortunately with freight and then Labour to install , it doesn't make any sense to replace it.
I was hoping for someone who Acer may have helped , out of warranty for a faulty part. Thx again

    Hi JackE,
My daughter laptop just got water spilled all over it and I believe the motherboard is now gone, I tested the HDD and Ram and both works fine, and I'm trying to buy a new motherboard but don't know where can I get it!

Laptop model is Swift 3 SF314-56-55QK, would you be able to tell me what is the part number for the MB and where to buy it?

    Thanks in advance :-)

Google the i5 mainboard part number NB.GXL11.008 for vendors convenient to you. However, new boards are generally in the $200-300 USD. If  it was just plain tap water, you might be able to restore operation by placing the laptop in a lukewarm oven for about 15 minutes at about 60*C or 140*F. Jack E/NJ
