I bought the W700 i5 last week and I've tested the following games :

Ofcourse make sure you have the windows high performance profile settings turned on so it uses 17W (instead of 14W) and high performance graphics settings.

Battlefield 3 : 640x480 with lowest settings sort of playable. But big drop in framerate with heavy action.

Battlefield 2 : At the lowest resolution (I believe 1024x768) with low graphics settings it runs ok and playable. Some lag during heavy action but still fun.

Dirt showdown : Perfectly playable at 720P with low/ultra low settings and you can still enable the crowd, cloth, skidmarks, particles etc.

Rollercoaster tycoon 3 : Everything maxed out and fully playable (with mouse of course Smiley Wink)

Trackmania Canyon : Runs excellent at 720P (perhaps also higher).

Transformers : War for cybertron.  Runs EXCELLENT at 720P and I believe high settings Smiley Happy

Sine mora : Playable at 720P

Team Fortress 2 : Fully playable at 720P and highest settings

Rayman origins : Fully playable at 720P. @1080P is lags.

Burnout paradise : Perfect playable at 720P with medium/high settings.

Sonic Generations DEMO : Looks like it's too laggy to be playable.

Sleeping dogs : Only playable at very low resolution. Not worth it.

GTA 4 : To laggy to be playable.

Saints Row Third : Only playable at very low resolution. Not worth it.

Saints row 2 : Speed issue because game runs twice at fast. Bug and not playable.

Need for speed most wanted (2012) : To slow to be playable.

Dirt 1 : Very playable at 720P and medium/high settings

Need for speed world : Perfectly playable

P.S. for the games that do not support xbox360 controller I use Pinaccle game profiler to map the correct controls.

The w700 is currenlty using 10w rather than 17W.

There is a thread on here referring to throttling. basically when the CPU reaches 60 degrees the cpu is clamped to 10W affecting gaming performance.

Hopefully Acer will fix this soon. When they do you might want to try some of the unplayable games again as they might then work.

To add to your list. Civilization V works 1080p low / medium settings and the newest Tomb raider works 720p low settings.

I also play settlers 6 which works well on the higest resolution available and medium settings.

Thanks for the reply. Ok, I read the thread but I noticed the following.

When I play games on battery with balanced power setting (using 14W battery,17W on power as default setting) games lag. For example dirt showdown. When i connect it to a power outlet and use the high performance mode (17W,17W all settings on high performance) or use the same high performance mode (Set it manually) on battery power, the games are must faster and higher frame rates. Can it be that the Acer uses even less than 10W when on balanced mode? Maybe something to do with the HD4000 settings set to max performance or balanced ?
