Predator Helios 300 won't charge!

I just bought this laptop 2 days ago and when I powered it on the battery was at 0% and it immediately powered off. So I just left it on charge all night. The next day I powered it up installed some games battery was at 100% played for about 2 hours then did some web browsing when suddenly the laptop powered off. I turned it back on to see the battery at 5% and draining despite having no apps open and it being plugged in. I called Acer and we performed a battery reset and they said it's likely a faulty power brick. Last night I left it plugged in all night for about 8 hours woke up to turn the unit on to discover the battery at 0% and claims to be charging. Even with no apps open and it plugged in it seems to discharge the battery. I've read this happens when gaming but shouldn't be happening while sitting idle and plugged in right? Is this truly a faulty power brick or is it a bad battery? Does anyone else have this issue?

How many days do you have left to exchange the laptop with the seller? Also, what is the exact model of the laptop? Example A515-51-58HV. Have you tried resetting the battery?

Yea as mentioned above I performed a battery reset with Acer on the phone to no avail. It's a Acer Predator Helios PH315-51. Now it died while plugged in and has no power indicator. Im beginning to believe it's the power brick that's bad. I have a new one coming this week.

Can you verify that this button is being properly pressed?

Yes you can audibly hear it click when you depress the button and my model doesnt have a removable door for access.

@Mercidian check your battery wear with the battery report of hwinfo/battery bar pro etc... and also have you been gaming on battery if so theres your issue the battery might be faulty it was no meant for it also check your adapter with a voltmeter also never post your serial number/SNID publicly its not allowed please read the ACUA and follow the rules and please if you dont agree with the answer dont reject it leave it as it is by rejecting it youre damaging our rep giving us negative points we do not work for acer were only here as voluntary and we are just normal users same as you

Oh I thought I had to click that to keep the thread open I apologize! Also I didn't realize that about the serial/snid! Well the issue now is I cannot even get it to turn on as the battery is completely drained and it seems there is no power actually going to the unit as the LED power indicator doesn't even light up to indicate that the unit is plugged in! I'll be testing the power brick tomorrow when I get to work with a voltmeter and I'll post my findings. Again I'm sorry for all those whose reps I've damaged by clicking no.

Okay so I got my new power brick direct from Acer today and still no power indicator no response at all from the laptop. From the threads I've read it's likely to be a faulty motherboard. Anyone have any input on this?

Guys I appreciate your responses but to avoid useless responses please read the original post it indicated that the battery reset was done properly with Acer technical support then the process was repeated.

Was the battery at 0% before you even turned on the notebook for the first time? Is it possible that your notebook has been out of stock so long that the battery has completely discharged? I saw that the mfg date of your model marks the date 2018/08/20, ie your notebook has been in stock for over a year?

Guys I appreciate your responses but to avoid useless responses please read the original post it indicated that the battery reset was done properly with Acer technical support then the process was repeated. 

He is not asking you to do another power reset.

The RAM access door (that your model does indeed have) has a power cut switch that if the door isn't closed with screw tightened 100% will cut the power to your system preventing use (Similar to what your experiencing).

The picture you sent shows the access door.

The laptop was bought third party from a friend who bought it through Amazon. And since the ram has been upgraded after purchase that's a good question I'll investigate that further when I get to work however would that button not being depressed stop the power indicator from illuminating? And before it stopped powering on there was a battery drain, the laptop wouldn't charge the battery while plugged in consistently so the battery is absolutely at 0% as I was using it trying to get the battery to charge.

This button, if not properly pressed, may prevent the notebook from turning on properly. This button may also prevent battery charging.

Well I'm at work I opened the door to find that this unit doesn't come with that switch. There's no signs of damaged solder either to indicate that the switch broke off the board for some unknown reason. However the ram door does have that hard rubber insert as though the switch should be there.

This is not a problem as it depends on the motherboard revision. I still think it may have to do with the notebook's manufacturing time. It was a long time in stock until it was sold.

This laptop was sold in August and was in use until Christmas last year then was sold to me about a week ago. It was fully functioning at the time of Christmas.
